Sixers attend Yi Jianlian's private workout
The 2007 NBA draft, which will be held June 28, is rapidly approaching and the Sixers have made it clear that they wish to trade up. Right now they hold the 12th, 21st, 30th, and 38th picks in the draft and will trade up if they find a suitor. Yesterday Billy King flew out West to check out a private workout of Yi Jianlian, 19, the 6'11 power-forward considered to be the top international prospect in the draft. Although Yi is listed at No. 4 on Chad Ford's Top 10, a few people, including his own agent, think that Yi's stock may be dropping. In the Chinese league Yi was a proven scorer, averaging 24.9 points, but he's only been able to showcase his dunking. He could either end up as the next Yao Ming or the Chinese version of Stromile Swift, either way Billy King said he's interested with Yi and may trade up if the opportunity to do so is there. Here is a Yi Jianlian highlight video. Here is another article that looks at the strengths and weaknesses of Yi's game.
