Darius signs with Raiders, will the Eagles look at other safeties?
For those of you who were hoping the Eagles would pursue free agent Donovan Darius in the off-season in order to take over at the starting strong safety spot, that is no longer a possibility; Donovan Darius has signed with the Raiders. The Eagles may still want to consider Sammy Knight as an insurrance policy for Sean Considine, but I doubt the Eagles have any interest in Knight. Knight is an aging safety, 31, who hasn't played at the level he was known for earlier in his career.
I'm somewhat confident Considine and Mikell will be able to get the job done for the Eagles this year, but adding a proven veteran won't be a bad idea. He'll at least be able to challenge Considine in training camp, which would pay dividends in the regular season, even if Considine remains the starter.
