Eagles to take momentum from end of 2007 into 2008

Andy ReidAndy Reid said he wants to play the last two games to win so the Eagles could end the season on a good note and that's just what they did when they marched into New Orleans and exploded offensively to beat the Saints 38-23.  McNabb's performance most likely undermined any rumblings that he won't be returning as the Eagles quarterback next season.  Westbrook had another 100-yard game. Stewart Bradley looked outstanding and should turn out to be a fantastic 3rd round selection by the Eagles. Joselio Hanson stepped up big time; if he keeps playing like that, it's reassuring that the Eagles have a solid nickle corner behind Sheppard and Brown.  Brent Celek made some nice grabs, which seems to indicate that L.J. Smith will be as good as gone next season unless his stock in the free-agent market has decreased significantly.

Birds of Praise [Philadelphia Inquirer] The Eagles haven't had a lot of success at drafting linebackers in the Andy Reid era, but that seems to have changed with the selections of Omar Gaither, Chris Gocong, and Stewart Bradley.  Now the young Eagles linebackers look as promising as ever.

There is something good about finishing strong [PhiladelphiaEagles.com] The Eagles promising young players on defense give Jim Johnson something to get excited about.
