A picture of what your 2008 Eagles could look like

It may too much to ask for Asante Samuel, Roy Williams, and to keep Reggie Brown at the same time, but in a perfect world, this could potentially be the face of the 2008 Eagles.  And to me, that looks like a team destined for the Super Bowl.  If all these players could play up to the level we know they're capable of performing at -- watch out.

DEFENSE: Brian Dawkins, Sheldon Brown, Takeo Spikes, Omar Gaither, Chris Gocong, Lito Sheppard, Asante Samuel, Trent Cole, Juqua Thomas, Broderick Bunkley, Mike Patterson

Defense wins championships, right?  Get Asante Samuel!  That D would be ridiculous!  Plus, you'll have some outstanding reserves and guys who are developing: Quintin Mikell, Stewart Bradley, Joselio Hanson, Victor Abiamiri, and Akeem Jordan.  By the way, free agency begins February 29.  Asante Samuel has to be the Eagle's No. 1 priority this offseason.

OFFENSE: Donovan McNabb, Brian Westrbook, Roy Williams, Reggie Brown, Kevin Curtis, L.J. Smith, Tra Thomas, Jon Runyan, Shawn Andrews, Todd Herremans, Jamaal Jackson

If the Eagles get Roy Williams, they may have to part with Reggie Brown.  If that has to happen, I'm confident with Curtis as the #2 guy and Avant in the slot: he's been a solid short-yardage possession guy.  The addition of Williams will give Curtis more looks regardless of whether he's a wide out or in the slot.  Instead of dealing Brown for Williams, it would be ideal if they could get rid of Considine and send a 3rd round pick to the Lions.

If the Eagles can't get Williams because the Lions' asking price is too high, the Eagles still have options.  Stallworth, who may be cut for cap reasons, is a good possibility.  A trade for Javon Walker could also happen.  The Eagles could also upgrade with Bernard Berrian, who is an unrestricted free agent.  Brown and Berrian on the outside with Curtis in the slot isn't a bad option.

Hopefully, Christmas comes early and the starting 22 looks like this next year:
