Flyers lose 8 straight games, but there is still hope
To say the Flyers are in a funk is an understatement: the team has now lost 8 straight games. The first 7 games were losses in regulation (no points). They were finally able to salvage a point when they lost in a shootout to the Senators last night, 3-2.The good news: The Flyers were able to acquire an experienced defensemen Jaroslav Modry from the Kings for a 3rd round pick. Although Modry isn't the caliber of Tomas Kaberle, a player many Flyers fans were hoping they could get, he's a solid pick up that will sure up a blueline that is riddled with injuries.
The Flyers, who once occupied the 2nd seed in the East just weeks ago, have now slipped to the 7th seed in the East. Hopefully, with a few wins to gain some momentum and the return of Gagne and Hatcher to the lineup, the Flyers can finish the season strong and make some noise in the playoffs. Gagne has said that his concussion is mild and that he expects to return this season. Gange has said that he's taking things day-to-day and that the symptoms aren't as severe as his last concussion.
SCRATCH THAT: Gagne's concussion specialist has told him to sit out the rest of the regular season AND the playoffs.
